Great work on a more technical aspect of the build!
Well I’ve finished the mine. Sorry for not posting updates along the way. I built it on a 1" thick foam base. The instructions call for 2 1/2" thick foam pieces glued together but I couldn’t fine the 1/2" thick foam. In any case I’m happy with how it turned out. Lots of details to scatter around and bring everything to life.
While I had expressed some challenges with my accuracy in using the templates, they were an invaluable resource. I just needed to use them carefully, which I did with the remainder of the build. Everything came together nicely in the end.
Tom outstanding modeling and detail work. This was my first SW build and I had some issues also but that was probably inexperience with building SW kits. You’ve done a marvelous job. I love everything in the reel house (I forget what it’s actually called). Another great build from you.
High quality workmanship, Tom. Great job!
Tom, fantastic job. What a beautiful diorama. You’ve captured the appearance of a working, cluttered, mine scene perfectly. I especially like the boiler and head frame.
Wow Tom, what a grand piece!
Tom, nicely done. I especially like how real the cabling on the hoist looks.
Thanks for the nice compliments. This was a great kit to build. Just have to follow those great instructions, and that’s how the cabling was done Ray.
