That’s pretty funny, Alan. This is the very same substance I typically use for oily components, before the bottle’s seal failed to maintain its integrity. My container now appears like this—it’s no longer a liquid, but rather a paste.
Yes, I had the same problem. I used some alcohol and acrylic paint thinner with a battery-operated stirrer to try to recover something. It’s now more “ooze” than paint but somewhat serviceable.
Really well done across the board. I agree, the little fix with the darkened areas really makes everything pop. Nifty idea to have it removable. You can’t tell at all once the building is in place.
Dang, Alan. I tried to dissolve that residue with water before you wrote, because it says “water-soluble” on the label. The thinner would have been the better choice.
Thank you, Travis. Occasionally, I do have moments of clarity.
Really looking good JenS. Your detail work is terrific and everything just melts into the scene. Lots of color but nothing jumps out. Well done.
Thank you most kindly, Ken. I deeply appreciate your comment.
I believe the shed could benefit from additional illumination. The question remains: where ought the fixtures be installed? Above the platform outdoors, within the shed itself, or perhaps on the backside facing the courtyard? What are your thoughts?
Jens I would hang a lamp from the ceiling in the center of the room. One over the back door and one at each end of the dock for a total of four.
Will the roof be removable? Might need to add a joist for mounting in the middle. I’d suggest testing how bright 3 exterior lights will be. Seems bright. Thoughts?
I greatly appreciate your suggestions, Curt and Alan. A central lamp will undoubtedly be installed in the middle of the room. As the roof is intended to remain removable, I have constructed a simple truss system to support the lamp shield. Given the shed’s modest structure, three exterior lamps may be somewhat excessive; however, I shall reconsider the placement of the lamp above the platform.
After some aestivation on modeling, I was back at my workbench yesterday to continue working on the lighting. After the lampshade was attached to the central support, the Micro LED was glued in place. Using a syringe, I dotted the surface of the LED with 1-2 drops of matte medium to suggest a kind of glass globe.
Jen nice job with the light.
Thank you, Curt,
The center beam is now glued in place, and the interior lighting works.
Given that the lineside shed is somewhat in the woods, I believe that one additional light outside should be sufficient.
Nice work Jens! Lighting really adds a lot.
That looks fantastic JenS.
Really looks good JenS…
