My Sixth SW build: randyp

Thanks Tom. I his few more before I move on to my seventh SWM build.

Behind the engineer and chopping block is a supply yard.

To the left of the boiler house and below the power wheel is a work bench.

On around the boiler house is the last of the ground level details.

The barrel with the tarp was in Brett’s instructions and is where I got it idea for the tarp on the boiler in the supply yard. My next posting will finish up this thread. Thanks for looking. Randy

Hey Randy, you’re on a roll here! Detail work and scene composition look awesome. Look forward to the final reveal!

Thanks Ken, I only two or three more pictures to post. I y was a fun project. Randy

I look forward to seeing your final posts. Your details are very well composed.

Thanks Tom, maybe later today. Randy

Randy outstanding modeling. The attention to detail is fantastic.

Randy I love the attention to detail. So many little stories. The place is really busy. Great build!

Thanks Joel, I like the scene I have yet to show. It tops it all off you might say. Randy

Randy, you’ve really outdone yourself with this one. Great job all around.

Randy, You’re really making it exciting now. How much longer do we have to wait?

Thanks, Jim I appreciate your kind words. Randy

Not long Jen. It was going to be today but my wife and I have had a very bad horrible day today. I may post later tonight. But right now I am trying to get myself and my wife back together. Thanks for the nice message. Randy

Alright, it is time to finish up this thread. The final thing is the roof. I used cedar from cigar boxes. Two years ago I put some cedar inserts up on roof to weather.

Here is the result of the weather cedar.

Unfortunately I ran out weathered cedar. So I decided that the engine house roof needed to be replaced. Here is a stack of new shingles waiting to be installed.

With hammers wanting to be used. But the work is not going as well as Ralph wants. He is yelling at Junior to get up off his butt and get to work.

Now the new side of the engine house.

I wanted to be replaced in stages so that the engine would be covered as much as possible.

The final roof is the boiler house roof. I still need to get the tarpaper fitted around the smoke stack. You can also see some of the old shingles that were thrown off the engine house roof.

This has been a fun project. I always enjoy working on one of Brett’s kits. My next project will be this kit.

This will be my seventh Sierra West Model. Thanks for looking. Randy

Randy the cedar roof is outstanding and has a story all it’s own.

Randy, The roof really is nice. I’d say it was in need of repair! You will enjoy the Tie Mill. It is a fun build and is full of details

Thanks Tom, I have started the tie mill. You are correct about the details. Randy

Thanks Curt. I need to put more cedar on the roof. Randy
