Kebmos o scale sawmill

welp, i’ve started on the sawmill. i gotta be honest, it’s not gonna be an easy build just because of my limited space, template 1 covers my entire worktop. ( and the fact that thenachinery intimidates me.)

i managed to get all the beams and floor joists installed, and the front and rear rope sheaves are installed. i’ll have a couple of picks later.

Awesome. I’m so glad you started this project. I’ll be following along closely. Looks like you’ve got a great start.

All right Kevin! Looking forward to this one my friend. Glad to see you at the bench.

Lookin’ good, Kev

Outstanding start Kevin. It does require a bit of extra space on the desktop for sure. When Karl and I were working on the pilot model I ended up finishing it up in the living room on a large table since my workbench was too small.

Nice start. Glad you are tackling this one. It’s a fantastic kit. I’ve been mulling over starting it too.

Kev, you’ve completed the hardest step, starting, and it looks like a very good start. Don’t let it intimidate you just keep working through the steps and follow those GREAT SW instructions. It’ll turn out great in the end.

thanks fellas.

builxing the structure doesn’t intimidate me at all. it’s the machinery that does it.

I look forward to seeing you build the sawmill. Whenever I do a SW kit I put a long folding table next to the workbench for everything that I’m not actually working on.

that’s a great idea! thanks curt.

Hello Kevin, this is a splendid kit, brimming with charm and character. I trust you will derive immense joy from this exceptional set.

Hi Kevin:

Great start to your build. I’m looking forward to following this as I have not yet started my sawmill so interested in your thoughts and feedback as you build this awesome kit.

there’s a heckuva lot of wood to grain. i wore out my favorite brush. fortunately i have a backup brush.

Looking forward to this one. Always loved this kit and I’m sure you’ll do a nice job. At least the machinery is in O-scale…

i need to order some stripwood from northeast scale lumber so i can start some of the machinery. for now i’m gonna skip ahead to the piers and at least get them ready to be installed. they’re pretty hard buggers so may have to break out the dremel and use a steel wheel at slow speed to add the grain. trying with a brush is gonna take forever.

Kevin your off to a good start. Just take your time.

Kevin, great start. I will be following along as you work. Another modeler here in St. Louis is taking about getting the sawmill and having me build it for him. I hope he decides to do that as I would love to build the kit. Randy

has anyone had any luck ordering from grandt line? i found their website after 5 pages of google bs. i found the product i was looking for (NBWs) but they have no cart or order form that iwas able to locate. tichy doesn’t seem to sell NBWs, so it seem like grandt line is the only game in town for NBWs. how do you buy them?

Kebmo, Tichy has various sizes of rivets and looks like only HO NBW’s. Maybe rivets could help?
