Curt, stairs look great, especially that little piece or railing out of place.
Stairs look excellent, Curt. Nice details there
Afternoon All,
Ken thank you for following along and your kind words.
Travis thank you for your comments.
tommich thank you for following the journey.
Brett thank you for following the build. It’s great to know the master is watching.
Ray Thanks for following and it all looks crooked to me. ![]()
Jen thank you for your kind words.
I’ve completed the dilapidated open shed except for details and roofing to be added later.
The colors used are raw umber, raw sienna, gold ochre and ash gray.
The flooring I modified a bit. I started by attaching a thin cedar base sprayed with flat earth. The instructions say to leave the small bay in dirt but I liked the idea of wood flooring on both sides.
This is also the first time I have builtwall framing so it’s probably not up to the standards of others here. I also tied to dirty it up.
The first photo is the back wall laid over to give a better view. The bases have dark tone and a mixture of greens.
That last shot of the interior looks great Curt! Nice base for all the details to come. I would try and feather and blend the mossy green in back so as not to have such a hard edge. Less is more when it comes to applying a simulated damp, mossy look.
Shed turned out nice. I agree about the green on the base. Might take a wire brush or sand lightly to feather it in a little
Curt, looks good, can’t wait to see the details in.
Looking good Curt. Any framing flaws can be covered by a strategically placed tank later on though yours looks fine to my eye. Agree with Ken, a little thinner on those moss spots and you’ll be good to go. Coloring of the walls is great!
Afternoon All,
Ken and Tommich Thank you for following along and your suggestions. I did take your comments and tried to tone down the mold.
Ray Thanks for following the build and your kind comments.
Travis Thanks for your support and comments.
I finished the corrugated roofing for the shed today. The coloring started out with a spray of Red Oxide followed bythe following chalks: Rusty Brown, Light Rust, Dark Rust, Ash Gray followed by Tamiya Line Accent on the edges.
The third photo is the redobo of the mold.
Hey Curt, the transition on the green looks great my friend ,as does the rusty corrugated. Well done.
Looks great Curt
Roof and walls looking great!
Nice coloring on the roof. The green mold is much better, just a subtle hint of it. Nice fix!
Afternoon All,
Thank you Ken, Ray, Travis, and Tommich for following along, your kind comments, and excellent suggestions.
Today I finished the fencing which is the last of the structure build. I also mounted the fence on the diorama base and marked the fence “feet” and then placed dental sponge in the holes so they remain open during landscaping. I had planned on mounting the fence before landscaping but Brett (suggested in instructions) said to do it this way and it makes sense.
Next up is details.
Fantastic Curt, the fencing matches the age of the old shed. Really coming along and love the overhead shot illustrating the various roof materials. Look forward to more!
Great progress Curt. Fence looks great. looking forward to seeing you start the diorama creation, my favorite part!
Curt, I agree the shot from above looks fantastic. How big is the diorama?
Great job on the fence Curt. I always like building those. Adds a lot of character as yours will and great spot to plant a ton of details!
Fence turned out GREAT Curt! It will certainly add a lot of character to the diorama. You’re getting close to the fun part, the details. That’s when everything comes to life.
Afternoon All,
Ken thank you for following along and your kind words of encouragement.
Brett I really appreciate you following along and your support.
Ray thank you for following along. The diorama is 21" x 10.5".
Travis thank you for your support and enthusiasm.
Tom I also look forward to doing the details and landscaping.
I finished the oil tank today. I ended up building the frame twice. The first one was a disaster. I modified the frame ends, added NBW’s, added 2 ladders, a walkway and the drain.
Nice finish on the tank Curt. Looks oily and well used. I love Brett’s tank collection, such a pleasure to detail and you’re making the most of this one!
