Those SW tanks are a lot of fun to work with. Lots of neat detail packed into a small space. I like your addition to the walkway and ladder. Nice coloring and the oil spill is nicely done.
Curt, your modified version looks great. We all struggle with the fiddly little sub-builds in HO scale so glad you persevered.

ALCO that’s amazing to me.
I added a vent to the top of the tank and “tarped” a transfer pump and hose for refills.
I finished painting details yesterday, such as they are. The first and last two photos are white metal parts and the rest are resin. I didn’t take photos of the 60+ individual drums and crates.
I started the white metal parts by blacking them. The resin was spray painted first with a earth brown. Both were painted with a varied type of acrylic paint and then weathering powder either brown, gray or rust was used.
Nice detail work Curt! Now the fun begins in arranging all the scenes with the detail parts. You achieved some really nice finishes.

Curt, I like the tone you got on the resin with the brown spray paint base. I usually default to black but will try to mix it up next time I prime some. Did you use the camo brown Brett recommends?

Travis I actually got the idea from reading posts on here. Unfortunately, I don’t remember who posted about it.
I just finished painting a dozen 3-D printed figures from 2 sources with a variety of acrylics.
Nice job on those little people. I too like to populate things, it gives the diorama another dimension even though it is at times difficult to find the right figures in a good quality. However, 3D printing is already changing that.
Looking forward to see how you place them!
Nice Curt, I’ve never painted a person. My experience has been that things are pretty good until you add people - just kidding.

Yesterday I finished the kit and AC Bulldog, so here are the final pictures.
Next up on the workbench is Shipyard at Foss landing. I’m trying to do progressively more difficult kits with the goal of building Twin Mills.

Maybe one critical input, if I may … Personally, I like the figures, it brings the scene to life, but some of the guys (those in the blue coveralls, or the yellow helmets), look a bit too bright/clean for an industrial scene. If you give them a black wash, you may be able to tone that down a bit.
Way to go Curt! So nice to have that build completed and in the books I’m sure. Well done. As swissrail mentioned, there is a hustle and bustle going on. The Bulldog looks amazing in that scene. Lots to look at my friend…again, nicely done. You and me both regarding Twin Mills!
